Jay R Ell Brings
Hope to
Hip Hop

by: Rene Stanley
New York, New York - Local teens launch website
and CD to lift the spirit and heart in order to help families
deal with pressure of youth, school and heartbreak.
Jay R Ell, two brothers, is a musical duo whose
music has been described as inspirational urban to some and positive
hip hop to others. Jay R Ell's CD, I Got Everything, is an universal
musical anthem that transcends race and culture. Jay R Ell also
speaks about social issues and the power of God. Jay R Ell's music
is family friendly.
There are many music CDs and websites but very
few will promote goodwill and self esteem while diminishing material
gain and self indulgence. Jay R Ell has offered free CDs to youth
ministries, schools and non profit groups.
Most teens want to know that they are not
alone in whatever they are going through, says J.R, So,
they search for extended families. You can only hope
that the families that they find will project a positive influence
in their lives. .
Ells advice to other teens is to Always
be yourself. You determine whats cool-not clothes, sneakers
and jewelry
I Got Everything is not about a house or
a car, I Got Everything refers to who you are.
Jay R Ell are young people with words of encouragement
for all people. Jay R Ell co-produced the CD and co-wrote 7 tunes
on the CD. London J.R (16) and Elliott Ell
(13) are teens who strive everyday to meet the challenges of our
fast paced and stressful world. Jay R Ells extraordinary
messages of hope will leave you obsessed with the music of Jay
R Ell as you find yourself singing their lyrics long after the
CD has played. Jay R Ells poetic funk will take you on a
full journey of emotions, from foot stomping, hand clapping dance
euphoria to bittersweet melancholy of missing someone you love.
Everybody Loves a Winner #7 is a fusion of Rock
and R&B that is energetic and fun and encourages everybody
to step up their game and play to fullest. R U Ready brings life
challenges to the forefront and reminds you that if you are prepared
you will always be triumphant. Come and Feel My Love #4 is the
sing-a-long love song that renews your faith in love and comforts
and heals your wounded heart. While Knight in Shining Armor #5
assures you that your help and protection is never very far away.
Shes Right #8 is a dance favorite and Flip It #11 proclaims
that it is time to change the game and enjoy life.
The Meeks Lewis Project performs the back up vocals
and lends a Gospel flavor to this mix of soulful renditions. Robert
Meeks contributes to the music for Come and Feel My Love while
Willard Meeks Jr. provides the music for True Love Interlude.
Both musicians are accomplished in their field as they have worked
with several pop, R &B and gospel artists and have performed
at a host of Broadway shows.

In the Hip Hop and Rap Underground...
NEOSOUL AUTHOR READIES RHYTHM & LIT PROJECT FOR SUMMER RELEASE
Neosoul Author - Kamichi Jackson
Ask author Kamichi Jackson how she categorizes her work and she'll
tell you it's called "Rhythm and Lit".
Ashburn, VA - "There should be a legitimate genre
called Rhythm and Lit because for me, one simply doesn't exist without
the other," Jackson says. "Stories come to me both in song
and in fictional prose. Music always plays a prominent part in my written
work and vice versa."
Take as an example Jackson's online drama, The Mic-Ness
(originally titled Ghetto Diva when it ran at her website three years
ago). Set in the world of R&B/Hip Hop Soul music, the series tells
the story of a girl group called Sashay. The author's love for music
is evident throughout the story, as well as in the series theme song,
which she co-wrote along with emerging producer Virt. Then there is
her second online series "Scenes From the Indigo Lounge",
for which a fictional jazz supper club is the setting.. Once again,
a love for composition and instrumentation is woven into the dialogue
and actions of her characters. And, of course, a theme song co-written
and performed by the author will grace the opening pages of the Indigo
Lounge section of the site (which will re-launch June 15th).
Even Jackson's upcoming novel release, The Brownstone
(a family drama set in Harlem, New York), will feature a small set of
tracks written and performed by the author.
"My favorite is I'm A Woman and it's an R&B
track I wrote years ago but have adopted as the theme for the relationship
between one of the main characters and her husband. My second favorite
is Soulmate and the one following closely behind that is No More. Once
again, I will work with Virt on these tracks. He brings out the best
in me. We vibe hard."
It doesn't stop there. Jackson has also been shopping
around a 14-page treatment for a movie called "On the Dotted Line",
a romantic comedy set, once again, in the music industry. The characters
are urban professionals, much like those found in Two Can Play That
Game (Vivica Foxx/Morris Chestnut) and Brown Sugar (Sanaa Lathan/Taye
Diggs). In fact, if Jackson had her way, any one of the writers of those
hit movies would come looking for her treatment as a next project for
their production company.
"We'll see if that happens, though," says Jackson,
who recently took an unusual step and put the treatment up for auction
at eBay. "It's hard to get to the right people these days. I've
tried just about everything I can think of, and I really don't know
what more to do. Too, the other reality is that I think we still have
a long way to go in setting a standard for the type of movies we'll
make. Someone somewhere is probably pitching Soul Plane II right now
and they'll probably find someone willing to sign that dotted line."
Ms. Jackson is also the author of "You're Too Much,
Reggie Brown", a chapter book for young readers released in December
2000. For further information about this and other projects by the author,
please contact her by email at info@kamichijackson.com, or by phone
at (703) 625-0279.
Visit her site at Kamichi
Jackson after June 15th for regular news and project updates.

"Hood Da Hood"

Brooklyn, NY - Hip Hop's True Voice for Rap is taking
over the Who's Who of radio stations across the United States. Fans
across the city are calling the station in masses to request "Hood
DA Hood," placing it on the heavy rotation chart. Never Quit Entertainment
(NQ) is gearing up to release "Hood Da Hood" the first single
from the forthcoming NQ release entitled "NQ 4 LIFE". "Hood

Hood Da Hood delivers high-powered lyrics that give you
an introduction to skills of M.E.L. and the anticipation of Chico Del
Vec's sound that hip hop lovers await. It is a testament to the ambitious

On the music side "Hood Da Hood" was produced by one of Brooklyn's
best kept secrets, NQ Entertainment's Chief Engineer/Producer, George
"The Differenez" Brown. The addition of this track to the
list of his accomplishments places this as the next Hip-Hop street anthem.
According to NQ Entertainment's CEO, Timothy Coleman
"It is an honor to have a member of the late, great Notorious B.I.G.'s
musical family on our first single". Chico Del Vec stated "B.I.G.'s
hand guided mine when I put the verse together, so I know that he would
be proud of this collabo".
Everybody Needs Somebody" is the B side of the
"Hood Da Hood" single and features the team efforts of M.E.L.
and Blessed. This dynamic duo brings the hottest stuff popping to the
table to create a sure fire club banger. Masterminding the production

The combination of blazing lyrics, hard hitting one-liners and an intensifying,
driven drum pattern are the key elements that make Everybody Needs Somebody
the official crowd moving song of 2004. Mr. Coleman states "Everybody
